Mile 2392.8 to 2407.2 for 14.4 miles with an elevation increase of 5771 and decrease of 3520. After breakfast where Jerry ate 3 of his single rice breakfasts we left Seattle. Hiking at 10:00 and into camp at 6:15. Fawn hiked with us to the Kendall Cat Walk. It was nice sharing a small piece of our day with her. Skies were partly cloudy with sun most of the day. The trail was good, but rocky talus after Ridge Lake. We saw many picas. One in particular seemed to want to cross the trail, but was perplexed with us in the trail. Early in the day we enjoyed thimble berries. As the sun went behind a ridge temperatures dropped and the wind picked up. Consequently we decided to set up camp rather than continue on to Delate Creek which was our original plan. We camped 3.9 miles south of Delate Creek at an elevation of 5246.
