Mile 2111.4 to 2139.2 for 27.82 miles with an elevation increase of 4369 feet and decrease of 5414 feet. Camp was at the end of a switchback .18 miles past Teakettle Spring; elevation of 3294 feet. We were hiking at 7:00 and into camp at 7:00. We had a warm night under cloud cover that lasted all day with only teases of sunshine. It was also quite breezy, but the thimble berries and huckleberries were exquisite. Mt. Hood had lenticular clouds on the summit. The trail was great. Once again there was a large number of NOBO hikers, most we do not know. Many times we were 12-15 deep going up the trail. Lunch was a real treat as we had a picnic table to sit at and had great discussions with Squeeze and Jam. At the end of the day we got glimpses of the Columbia River and listened to trains and the constant hum of vehicles on I-84 throughout the night.
