Mile 1906.2 to 1925.2 for 19 miles with an elevation gain of 2933 and loss of 2218. We camped at Charlton Lake, elevation of 5733. Today we slept in and got hiking at 10:00, then arrived at our camp at 6:20. We started by road walking to Willamette Pass and picking up the trail. Shelter Cove was very hiker friendly and a nice place. The trail was the best quality we have had on the entire trip! The tread was even level so feet landed flat. This was quite helpful to Jerry and his ankle. He wanted to continue on rather than take a “zero” in our tent. Water sources were Rosemary Lakes (just a few miles into our day) and at camp. Skies were less smokey today and the trail was in big timber. Our tent site was gorgeously placed next to the lake with water warm and bath water.
