Mile 1638.9 to 1623.7 for 15.2 miles and elevation increase 3550 and decrease 2510. Total PCT miles 840.94. Camped at elevation 5728 at shuttered Marble Valley Ranger Cabin.

Hiking by 7am, temperatures remained cool all day. Lots of bear scat before entering the Marble Mountain Wilderness. Quality of trail improved in the wilderness. Saw five NOBO hikers today. Encountered several snow patches and some are likely to be here another month. We both agreed this has been our favorite portion of the PCT to date. We were tired from yesterday but found our hiking legs by mid morning. Lunch was at beautiful Paradise Lake where the fish were jumping clear of the water. This was our first non-reservoir lake of the trip. At times our food is really boring, but I really liked the salmon and soft package of bananas Fawn sent. By 1pm the weather was deteriorating and by 2:15pm it was lightly raining. We were in camp by the shuttered Marble Valley Ranger Cabin with the tent set up and water filtered before the storm broke. Deer are very friendly at this camp. There were many smaller lakes below the trail all day.
