Mile 1655.9 to 1638.9 for 17.07 miles and elevation increase 5208 and decrease 1925. Total PCT mile 825.74. Camped at elevation 4674.

We were at the cafe at 7am. I did not have a milkshake for breakfast as I had planned. Instead we both had omelettes, neither of us could finish the hash browns. Began the 6.5 mile road walk at 8am. The first mile and a half was along a 55mph highway with no shoulder. The last five miles was much quieter along Grider Road. Saw two NOBO hikers on the road walk. Afterwards the trail conditions deteriorated to a very brushy log choked trail. Often the trail was completely obscured and lots of poison oak. Temperatures rose quickly before lunch. We had two very nice breaks where we soaked feet and dunked our heads. Our initial plan was to camp at 14.3 miles but due to our confusion reading the NOBO notes backwards we eventually dry camped at 17 miles after carrying water for a couple of miles. There were many butterflies, bear scat and blooming thimbleberry bushes. We were in camp at 5:30pm. It was a hard day.
