Day 48 - 5/16/18

MP 608.91 to MP 625.54 for 16.63 miles and 2210 ft gain with a loss of 3236 ft. Camp was at 5286 ft. Previous night was cold with condensation on the inside and frost in the outside of the tent. Trail started in pleasant woods but quickly transitioned to full desert by 5 miles into the day. Temperatures were moderate, but the wind really picked up by 3pm. We were very grateful of the water cache, but disappointed in the trash hikers leafy at the cache. Kathy lost her spoon at lunch, while Jerry rebounded with a strong day. Putting up the tent was quite a challenge due to the very strong winds and exposed tent site. We once again cooked inside the tent due to the wind. The garbanzo bean dinner Fawn helped assemble was a hit.
