A very noisy night at the KOA. trains on one side and a busy freeway on the other! We both are tiring of the desert and Southern California. Left the KOA at 8am with a goal of “only” ten miles to Agua Dulce. Mile 444.50 to 454.50. As we were walking the road to HikerHeaven we were offered and took a ride. Got our packages and received a tour of the extensive place. Many tents already packed the backyard. We opted for a motel room miles away for the quiet as the weather was deteriorating. By 4pm it was raining sheets. On the trail today it was striking to see the millions of ants marching in formation. Basque Rocks State Park was spectacular. The top of my foot was really hurting so Jerry cut the shoe lengthwise at the base of the tongue hitch significantly reduced the pressure. Naturally I got my first small blister of the trip due to the sloppy shoe. And we passed the “Golden Spike” where the trail was completed in 1993.
