Left the “faucet” at mile 205.72 and went to the Whiteriver Preserve a half mile off trail from PCT mile 218.50. A beautiful place. Soaked in the wading pond which is fed by the White river with our clothes on. It was great to cool off the feet and rinse some of the dirt off us. We camped on the lawn under large Oak trees. This place also had bathrooms with running water and picnic tables. Definitely a luxury for us. Sophie and James from New Zealand came in as well and enjoyed a good soak. As we were coming in Tang and the hiker formerly known as “shoeless” were heading out for a few more miles. We gained about 1400 feet elevation this day. A few miles from our start for the day we went under Hwy. 10 where a trail angel had left water, sodas, apples, oranges, bananas etc. This was a real treat. Further on the Mesa wind farm had water and a gazebo set up for shade. All this generosity made for a great day.
