Day 14 - 4/12/18

Mile 185.5 to 205.72. Descended 6800 feet. Left camp at 7 am. It was a very cold night, but that was just the beginning. Fuller Ridge was extremely windy. After Fuller Ridge the trail became very rocky and the high winds continued. We were in our down jackets with hat and gloves until 11:30. Felt like we were being blown off the trail. Had beautiful flowers and rock formations to enjoy, but the switchbacks seemed overly redundant. Some switchbacks went up while others went down. You could go a mile dead level. This wore on us. Mango hiked with us most of the day. It was a 20 mile dry stretch so carried a lot of water. Was our first 20 mile day! Arrived at camp at 5 pm. Weather forecast 25-35 mph winds with 60 mph gusts till 8 pm. All guy lines staked and rocks on all stakes. Our tent one of the only ones to remain standing through the night. Mango sprained her ankle running after her tent and another hiker Matt pulled some tendons in his foot. Both are off trail for awhile. Wish them both a speedy recovery
